How often do the solar batteries need maintenance work and/or replacing?

We use high-end solar batteries that require no maintenance. We would recommend the power storage to be replaced every four to five years.

How long will it take to install the Opti-Pole?

A standard installation of the Opti-Pole takes only two days.

  • Day one is dedicated to installing the secure ground bolt, where we use a sucker truck for the footing to create a 1.2m deep x 600mm wide hole and fill it with concrete. This needs time to dry overnight.
  • Day two involves the installation of the pole and takes approximately eight to ten hours to complete. Our team are experts at installing the Opti-Pole with minimum disruption to any site.
Do I need council approval to install an Opti-Pole?

Most councils will have their own bylaws for any structure and will require paperwork, including an engineers certificate, before commencing installation.  We highly recommend you contact your local council for advice.  However, you can email us with their requirements and we can assist in supplying you with the information requested.

There is a lengthy distance between our proposed site for the Opti-Pole and a power source. How will the Opti-Pole work in this situation?

The Opti-Pole is a cable-free system, meaning the power source is contained within the pole itself.  Solar power and wind (if required) power are used to power the system, avoiding cabling installation that is costly and damaging to the environment.

We live in a part of Australia that has continuous cloud cover. Will the Opti-Pole still work?

Yes. The Opti-Pole has been designed to deliver a reliable CCTV service across every area of Australia. Where sunlight is a potential issue, we may recommend a small wind generator be added to assist the solar capture technology, however we will advise based on specific locations.

We have an issue where our network infrastructure is old, and the streaming of megapixel cameras is not possible. Will Opti-Pole still work in this instance?

Opti-Pole is still able to work even in places where streaming speed is an issue.  We carefully select the best cameras and together with our preferred VMS, are able to program the amount of data usage the camera will use, meaning streaming speed is not an issue.  In addition to this, the Opti-Pole has the capacity to contain its own server recording that can be set to 2, 3, 4 or even 5 megapixels which again allows you to control the amount of data usage the system uses.

Attacks by vandals and security are both issues within our community. What security measures do you have in place to protect the Opti-Pole?

To protect your investment in Opti-Pole, several security measures are built into the design of the pole itself.  The communication enclosure on the pole has several points of alarm including vibration and pressure sensors, communication loss alarm and camera tapering alarm.  If an alarm is activated, the alarm notifications can be audible, silent or returned as live footage back to communication rooms as a live feed.

We use Indego vision as our security software. Is your product compatible?

Yes. The Opti-Pole is compatible with most VMS, however we can trial your choice of software should the Opti-Pole require an internal server.

The Opti-Pole looks very industrial. Can the Opti-Pole be made more attractive to suit the area?

Yes. The Opti-Pole can be powder coated to a colour of your choice or even multi- coloured to suit any environment.  This is a particularly popular option in playgrounds, parklands and public council places.

What makes the Opti-Pole different to other CCTV solutions?

Prior to designing the Opti-Pole, we looked at other systems on the market and discovered that there was nothing that suited the specific needs of the market. Our design team set to develop a high-end remote CCTV system that was completely relocatable and that didn’t rely on an external power supply.

Do you only have the one Opti-Pole?

No!  Every solar solution is custom designed and there are 11 different solutions as stands to date, from hardware to software solutions.
